An artist's book produced to document Daniel Buren's installation in BSI, Banca della Svizzera Italiana. The artist incorporates patterns of colored stripes into the windows and entryways of the bank, in order to "integrate visual surface and architectural space in historical architecture." -- publisher's statement. Features photographs of the installation, as well as Buren's notes on the project. In his notes, the artist writes that "It is not a question of ornamenting ( disfiguring or embellishing ) the place ( the architecture ) in which the work is installed, but of indicating as precisely as possible the way the work belongs in the place and vice versa, as soon as the latter is shown." Edited by Luca Cerizza. Texts in Italian and English.
