"Ray Johnson is not neo-dada or abstract or extract: he is an artist representing the reality of his life; it happens that his life is a collage" -- publisher's statement. from endflap of book.
This special edition copy of Johnson's book contains a unique insert by the artist enclosed by an envelope glued to the front pastedown. The insert is a 7.2 x 17.8 cm "moticos," one of Johnson's distinctive collages with a pale overpainting. Peter Frank's bibliography states that there were 197 copies of this special edition, in which each of the inserts is unique (but not all are by Johnson himself, many of them are other individuals' work, having been passed along by Johnson in his Correspondance School mailings).
