Set of ten publications and documents of the formation of Experiments in Art and Technology (E.A.T.) and their projects. Includes: a three page press release announcing the alliance between E.A.T. and the American Foundation on Automation and Employment, Inc. and E.A.T's intentions to make it's headquarters in the AFAE's new building on East 68th St. aka Automation House; "Automation House: Headquarters of the American Foundation on Automation and Employment, Inc." a brochure on the new Automation House, it's goals, and it's history; a membership brochure for E.A.T; transcipts including "Remarks by Billy Klüver," president of E.A.T, "Remarks by Herman D. Kenin," President of the American Federation of Musicians, "Remarks by John R. Pierce," executive Director of Bell Telephone Laboratories, "Excerpts from Remarks by Ralph C. Gross," President, Commerce and Industry Association, "Remarks by Warren Brodey," director of M.I.T. Science Camp, and "Remarks by Robert Morris," artist; a single sheet with descriptions of three E.A.T. projects: "Nude," by Leon Harmon and Ken Knowlton, "Minuphone," by Marta Minujin and Per Biorn; and "Holography," a presentation by Dr. Herwig Kogelnik; with three black-and-white photographs documenting those projects, one of which -- "Holography" -- has Peter Moore rubber stamps on verso dated September 24, 1967; a reprint from the February 1967 issue of Artforum "Theater and Engineering: An Experiment, 1. Notes by a Particant by Simone Whitman," and "2. Notes by an Engineer," by Billy Kluver; Nov/Dec 1966 issue of Reporter Magazine published by Bell Telephone Laboratories for it's employees which includes the article "The Switched-On Theater..." an article about "Nine Evenings of Theater and Engineering," held in New York October 13 - 23, 1966 and featuring performances by Oyvind Fahlstrom; Robert Rauschenberg, Deborah Hay, John Cage, Steve Paxton, Yvonne Rainer, Robert Whitman, Alex Hay, coordinated by Billy Kluver and engineered by Bell Labs engineers on their own time; clipping of the article "A Wacky Collaboration of Science and Art," pages 99- 106 of the January 1967 issue of FORTUNE Magazine; and the large scale exhibition catalogue for the E.A.T. show at the Brooklyn Museum held in 1968, "Some More Begginnings An Exhibition of Submitted Works Involving Technical Materials and Process Organized by Staff and Members of Experiments in Art and Technology in Collaboration with the Brooklyn Museum and the Museum of Modern Art, New York," with an introduction by Klüver and featuring 137 contributions by artists.
