Doll House [Norton Family Christmas Project 2002 : Yinka Shonibare]

description

Multiple by Yinka Shonibare produced by the Peter Norton Family as their 2002 Christmas Project sent to friends and artworld colleagues. Comprised of a two story furnished dollhouse conceived and designed by Shonibare. Includes a staple bound booklet with a biography of the artist, introduction to the dollhouse, and a floor by floor illustrated list of the contents of the dollhouse. "Yinka Shonibare's doll house is a replica of the 1872 Victorian town house in the East End of London where he now lives. As in many of his other projects, Dutch wax print cloth figures prominently, and in this dollhouse the chairs and bed are covered in it. To impart a lived-in quality, Shonibare selected furniture in various woods and styles to fill the rooms." -- from the accompanying booklet.
