A two volume set of publications published in 1954 about the Ginza neighborhood of Tokyo housed in a brown cardboard box with a printed label. The first volume, "Ginza Kaiwai," edited by artist and writer Shohachi Kimura, includes a history of Ginza with photographs, illustrations, a beautiful color wood block print by Hiroshige, detailed hand drawn aerial maps of the neighborhood and more. ... Condition:  Good / Very Good. The first volume, "Ginza Kaiwai," is in a slipcase with a 2 cm. tear to surface layer of paper on verso and 8 mm. tear at corner. Light rubbing of covers and soiling along page edges. Significant yellowing of endpaper from acidity. Small 5 mm. areas of soiling to pages 7-17, 58-59, 78-79 and others, light marks throughout. Contents otherwise clean and unmarked. The second volume, "Ginza Haccho," has light foxing to verso of pages with significant yellowing and foxing to title page as well as buckling of endpaper. Light bleed through of foxing to picture facing pages at spine and edges and speckled throughout on the center of the pages. Moderate wear, tearing and discoloration to original printed cardboard box. Housed in a new, custom, archival clamshell box.
