description

Single sided open letter addressed on September 1970 to "All Black People / White People" from Black Philadelphians United. Letter questions "Why should Black people unite/or relate to white people? What basis is there for a coalition?" the letter continues on to ask if "White people know they are oppresses" as well as "what are white people doing to overcome oppression." The letter asks how many "progressive white people have committed themselves to a Revolutionary struggle for change..." The main focus of the letter is to for white people to become self-aware of their actions and attitudes as well as what change they are implementing to better society. The letter looks to look for white allies in America "Black people have been looking for such white allies in America for 300 years, and Black Americans will be looking once more at the 'so-called progressive' whites who will come to Philadelphia for 3 days."
