Multiple produced as an exhibition held January 1 - December 31, 1987. Kraft paper envelope printed on two sides and two thin brown cardboard die-cut stencils with the statement "Une Boite Faite en Bois Batie sur les Cendres d'une Boite Faite en Bois" and a second stencil with the same statement in English "A Box Made of Wood Built Upon the Ashes of a Box Made of Wood." Both contained in the envelope which bears the explanatory text, in English and French, "This work of Lawrence Weiner is being lent to the receiver for one year with a means of presentation (two stencils, one in French, the other in English). This Work, sent to the whole mailing list of the Center, forms one of the Magasin's exhibitions. It will be held between January 1 and December 31 1987 in seven thousand different places throughout the world."
