description

Two volumes: "FACE: Investigations of a Dog, Works From Five European Art Foundations," and "Så som du hade berättat det för mig (ungefär) om vi hade lärt känna varandra innan du dog," published in conjunction with a traveling exhibition first presented at the European Parliament in Brussels in 2008. The five European art foundations include the DESTE Foundation, Ellipse Foundation, Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, La maison rouge - Fondation Antoine de Galbert, and Magasin 3 Stockholm Konsthall. "The catalogue contains a presentation of the network FACE, its member institutions and texts about the exhibition Investigations of a Dog. It also includes texts about the artworks presented and is generously illustrated throughout. In conjunction with the exhibition, each institution invited a local author to write a new short story inspired by Franz Kafka for the catalogue. English translations of all five short stories are published in the exhibition catalogue. Featured authors are Aristide Antonas (GR), Rui Cardoso Martins (PT), Jonas Hassen Khemiri (S), Emmanuelle Pagano (FR), Tiziano Scarpa (IT). Artists included in the exhibition: Vasco Araújo, Virginie Barré, Philippe Bazin, Mircea Cantor, Maurizio Cattelan, Roberto Cuoghi, Mark Dion, Gardar Eide Einarsson, Urs Fischer, Fischli&Weiss, Claire Fontaine, David Hammons, Annika von Hausswolff, Thomas Hirschhorn, William Kentridge, Kimsooja, Jeff Koons, Sigalit Landau, Sherrie Levine, DeAnna Maganias, Mark Manders, Esko Männikkö, Marepe, Paul McCarthy, Boris Mikhailov, Bruce Nauman, Cady Noland, Martin Parr, Navin Rawanchaikul, Aurel Schmidt, Gregor Schneider, Lara Schnitger, Santiago Sierra, Lorna Simpson, Stéphane Thidet, Kara Walker." --publisher's statement. "Så som du hade berättat det för mig (ungefär) om vi hade lärt känna varandra innan du dog," or "(As you would have told it to me (sort of) if we had known each other before you died)" is a short story by Jonas Hassen Khemiri accompanied by illustrations from the exhibition. Text in Swedish. Both volumes held together by a printed bellyband.
