Carl Andre - Two Works

description

Single side announcement card for show of two sculptures by Carl Andre "Twelth Copper Corner: Rescued from Mutilation at the Whitney Museum of American Art" and "29th Copper Cardinal : Liberated from Property Bondage at the Whitney Museum of American Art's '200 Years of American Sculpture'" held May 1 - July 1, 1976 at 355 West Broadway. The space, an empty storefront, was rented by Andre to display his own sculptures as he wanted them to be displayed in protest of the perceived mishandling of his sculptures by the Whitney Museum on two separate occasions.
