description

Exhibition catalogue as bibliography published in conjunction with the fist exhibition of 50 books and manuscripts by the beat poets Gregory Corso, Allen Ginsberg, and Lawrence Ferlinghetti held at the John Hay Library, Brown University, Providence, in November 1962. Exhibited books were largely drawn from The Harris Collection of American Poetry and Plays in Brown University Library. "This is the first exhibition of books and manuscripts by these three important poets of the Beat movement. It may be the last time poets may be exhibited or associated together as 'Beat poets', for each has found his own voice regardless of a literary group or school; and, when the exhibition was opened, they were living on three different continents." -- from flyer's text.
