Appeal for Money for The Students for a Democratic Society

description

Letter from Dwight Macdonald on May 20, 1968, appealing for money for The Students for the Democratic Society (SDS) who are being evicted from their New York headquarters. The organization needed $3,400 for the down payment on "larger, cheaper offices in a friendly cooperative building." Macdonald argues the SDS has "played a major part in the recent and, in my opinion, beneficial disturbances on the campus of Columbia University."
