Two page, staple bound, program for Carolee Schneemann's epic performative work MEAT JOY. Published for performances held at Judson Memorial Church, New York, November 16, 17, 18, 1964. Printed on orange paper. "MEAT JOY began as a series of images in March, 1964, following the invitation to present a new work for theatre at Jean-Jacques Lebel's 'Festival of Free Expression' in Paris. The pieces developed from these images, through drawings and notes, and then during rehearsals with the French cast. It was performed at the Paris Festival on May 29th, and again in London two weeks later. With the passage of time, and the changes of physical environment, MEAT JOY has changed too..." -- excerpted from program's text.
