"The project for le Nouveau Musée began as a response to their invitation to develop an artwork within the city during the period when the museum's exhibition spaces would be closed for renovation. ... This project consists of the recovery of all the cast iron in the heater furnaces which was being discarded during the new modifications. The cast iron is then shipped to a smelting plant where it can be melted down and re-cast (without adding any new metal) into small individual rectangular solid objects..." -- from publication's foreword.
