In the outcome, the works displayed served as liaison between the artists and the spaces they chose to animate. Peter Alexander showed vertical strips of color grouped to represent a unit of experience; Larry Bell planned a single transparent object in a darkened room; Robert Irwin 'activated a space perceptually with as little event or object as possible'; Craig Kauffman showed three objects, one created directly on the wall. In this publication the Galleries are equally self-effacing. The artists were interviewed by myself in the thought that self-criticism is mire interesting than criticism." -- Fredrick S.
