Single fold prospectus for Allan Kaprow's multiple titled "Cocktail Table," which took his large-scale book "Assemblage, Environments and Happenings," and attached four table legs to it in addition to including a shot-glass and a whisky bottle. "Reversing the usual situation in which the book is not read but the cocktail is drunk, this work provides a drink which is not to be drunk but a table which is to be read." -- from the prospectus. The edition was stated to be 34 copies, however, publisher stated the edition was not completed due to lack of purchasers. Announcement includes a slipped-in black-and-white photograph of Kaprow with the "Cocktail Table" multiple.

In recent years art books have grown larger and more lavish-so much so that they are almost displays. Hence the familiar trade reference to them as 'cocktail tables'.

Allan Kaprow saw his book 'Assemblage, Environments and Happenings'* in this light with some amusement, and decided that if it was going to be a 'cocktail table', it should be a COCKTAIL TABLE. With the addition of four legs to its back, a shotglass and a whisky bottle, it becomes just that.
